Watching and Praying

My Summer project 2014 is coming along nicely!  I laid it out on my bed to get a good look at it.
I've given this quilt/wall hanging a title:  Watching and Praying
I just realized that I have titled my projects that will take longer than an afternoon to complete.  {a Granny Square blanket "Count it All Joy", applique little bird wall hanging "Fear Not"}

Here's my little fabric stash for this project and the chicky pin-cushion that my mom made and gave to me many years ago  :)

I like to lay out all the supplies and look at them.  I suppose, it keeps me motivated for the completion of the project.  Keep moving, right?  I see it beautifully finished in my head, now I just need to put it all together -- piece by piece.  Here is where the title came..."Watching and Praying"

I get so excited about the end result, that I can easily loose patience [motivation] and let the project drag out without much effort on my part.  Wow!!  I knew this about myself, but I really REALLY saw this attitude come about in my prayer life. It's made me stop and consider the effects.

Have you ever taken a request to the LORD, with all your heart, and humbly believe Him to make a way, provide, heal, strengthen, and encourage you or your loved one?  And then, when the situation doesn't change immediately - feel discouraged?  If you are like me, you even went back to the LORD and asked again.  Believing that He heard you.  Still not the desired results show in the allotted time.

I've been before the LORD on several matters recently.  Some pressing, some very important, and some seem to be dragging on.  Like my quilt project, I must keep God's Written Word before my eyes at all times.  I NEED this to keep me on task with praying.  We NEED to KEEP OUR EYES ON JESUS!  He is the Word of God!!

Hebrews 12:1-3
  "Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds."

Dear Reader, I hope that you will hold on to the Anchor of your soul - the Almighty God.  Jesus said that in these end times we are to more fervently WATCH and PRAY.  Watch your children, your husband, your siblings..in that.. you are the watchman for your family..you keep praying and NEVER let the enemy come on your watch.  NEVER lose sight of the end of the race..that blessed hope...Eternity with the LORD.

1Peter 4:7  But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.
Revelation 3:3  Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.

Stitch by stitch, moment by moment...leaning on the everlasting arms.

Look UP! Your redemption draweth nigh,
~Cristina
