The Hedgehog Tribe

*NEW* Announcing helpful accountability and life coaching sessions for moms.
Why the Hedgehog?
Hedgehogs are commonly referred to as ‘the gardeners friend’ due to the high number of insects and other garden pests it eats. Their main food source is beetles, caterpillars, slugs and earthworms. Encouraging them into your garden has mutual benefits to both you and your prickly visitors. It is not uncommon for an adult hedgehog to eat almost half its own body weight every day.
In the Bible, the LORD uses the illustration of gardens and vineyards regularly.  We have learned about the importance of keeping out the weeds from our gardens both in the actual backyard of our homes, and in the soil of our hearts. We are so used to keeping the weeds out of our garden that we are unaware of the pesky insects spoiling the fruit. Looking at hedgehogs and gardens, we can see the parallel to life.  (Though the hedgehog is not native to North America, our British and Australian friends know the value of the help these cute little creatures are.)

Weeds and pesky insects quietly and slowly steal the fruit and the life out of the garden. The same is true in our own lives.  The little offenses, the daily irritations, and interruptions can take the joy out of the day.  Never mind those 'big' issues that require more immediate attention.

I've seen the need to keep those pests out of our day become a more common thread in the lives of women.  We may know the WHAT to do, but lack the HUMPH to do it.  We need to be BRAVE and STRONG but maybe have been at it so long we've just run out of steam.  I am here to help you. I can be your garden's friend -- like the hedgehog.  I hope you'll keep reading and find that you are not alone and certainly not crazy! BE ENCOURAGED! I've started the Hedgehog Tribe for us to join together in these last days to build up each other, pray for each other, and overcome by the word of our testimony and the by the blood of the Lamb.

A little about me: I'm a wife to my best friend and we've been married 27 years this December 2015. We have 6 children (all ours together :) ) I am a born again Christian, wife, stay-at-home mom, entrepreneur partner to my husband, homeschool teacher to our children, sister, and friend ..(and a new granny).   Just graduated our youngest this summer and it feels like we are empty-nesters already .. even though we have just one married daughter and the others still live at home.. I love to do handwork! Quilting, embroidery, and knitting are my favorites.  (you're welcome to check out some projects on Instagram @Mama8Hawks

But my most favorite thing to do is talk about and learn about the LORD God of the Bible. Over the years, I've met some wonderful ladies from all walks of life, and they will tell you .. 'yep, Cristina loves to talk about God'  I've discovered something about talking with other ladies...we ladies like to talk! I know it's common knowledge..but hay..it's worth repeating :)  We like to ask each other 'how did you make that?', 'where did you find that?', 'what did you do in that situation?', and pretty much every other question that can be asked.  How do we come by our answers? What about when the advise we took didn't render the desired results? What if you don't even know what questions to ask? Too embarrassed? Feel silly just asking?

Society would say...'Google it' ...
BUT! The best way to find the answers is to ask the God who knows everything!  There's an old hymn I love and the chorus goes like this ..
Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him, How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er,Jesus, Jesus, Precious Jesus!  O for grace to trust Him more.

This is my song...this is my story ..   He is faithful to show us the way, give us the answers, and be everything to us.  I've been through some trying times in my life.  As well as some good...but in both I've run to the LORD for HOW DO I GET THROUGH THIS??

If you or someone you know is going through some stuff and just needs to see the clear path through it..I'm happy to be available for you.  Let's chat.

My Three Coaching Points:
Priorities: Finding the source of your strength in the Bible.
Learning how to love learning is the key to being teachable. Being teachable means you realize you don't know it all -- this is humility. No other book in the world, no other book ever written for all time has the impact on one's life as the Holy Scriptures: the Bible. Need answers? Need a miracle? Need strength and a sound mind to get through the day? You will find it in the Bible.

Journalling: Writing it down
There are some simple yet profound reasons for daily journaling. We'll look at the impact of journaling for improved mental health, accomplishing goals, and becoming the woman god wants you to be.

Improve Happiness And Relationships
The loving truthful approach is the hard look at ourselves. We'll look at life through the eyes of empathy and compassion and find the adjustments to our own responses in each situation. Resulting in less stress, less anxiety, and less regret which brings joy -- that kind of true happiness we long for in our life and relationships :)
