About 7 years ago, my husband made the announcement that our family would be moving to Idaho. My husband spent some wonderful growing up years in Idaho and his dream was that we would return someday and that day had arrived. (That is a whole big story for another time)
Well, it's taken me nearly all of these 7 years to acclimate myself to the weather and climate change. See, I grew up in the Midwest, where there's thunderstorms, tornadoes, and humidity. Whereas in southwestern Idaho there's none of that. It's actually a desert. Well, I wasn't used to having static in my hair in July, nor shocking myself getting out of the car in August.
Why am I sharing this with you? Talking about the weather is a 'safe' topic. Right? Well, the good LORD wrote plenty in His Word about how to deal with climate changes.

We all know that wonderful scripture of Psalm 23...you remember the part about green pastures and still waters...right...lovely... But have we remembered that the LORD wants us to rest in Him when we are not sitting in that soft green grass next to a serene waterfront?
In the last seven years, the entire world has been effected by crazy and even tragic circumstances. Economic and weather junk being the foremost problems. We know many folks who've lost ALL because of one of these. You might be going through some junk yourself: relationships, family, job, life in general. We ourselves have been through mostly hard times since our move. Where is that green pasture, LORD??
In my quiet time this morning, I was reading several things and all of them were confirming in my heart the same thing:
He that is of a proud heart stirreth up strife: but he that putteth his trust in the LORD shall be made fat. He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.
- Pro 28:25-26 -
It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. - Ps. 118:8
It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. - Ps. 118:8
He [Abraham] staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; -Rom 4:20

We shall never forget a remark that George Mueller once made to a gentleman who had asked him the best way to have strong faith. 'The ONLY way,' replied the patriarch of faith, 'to learn strong faith is to endure great trials. I have learned my fiath by standing firm amid severe testings"
Dear one, you scarcely realize the value of your present opportunity; if you are passing through great afflictions you are in the very soul of the strongest faith, and if you will only let go, He will teach you in these hours the mightiest hold upon His throne which you can ever know.from 'Streams in the Desert' by C.E. I have known that peace that passes understanding ONLY after casting my cares on the LORD. It behooves us to read the Bible to learn how to trust the LORD no matter what befalls us. I have known the lovingkindness of our merciful Father even when I don't know how to process the situation in my own thinking.
Be encouraged, Dear One, the LORD is the God of ALL comfort, peace, and wisdom. He wants to be your all-in-all.
